"Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord." Colossians. 3:16

Kardia: One small word in the Greek New Testament that encompasses so much. Kardia means 'heart' and refers to the whole person - the inner being, emotions, thought processes, reactions, and more.  Musical compositions spring from the heart. Good or bad, music is a reflection of the heart.
